Pugmire Party Part 2

As night fell the exciting and yet dreaded (for Archy) homemade fireworks show began. Archy has hated/been terrified of fireworks since he was tiny. All day long he was anxious about it and kept asking when the fireworks were. We brought muffling headphones for him to wear during the fireworks but Aunt Rebecca who held him during the show said when the rocket shot in the air he would tremble in fear until it exploded. Aunt Rebecca was very sweet to hold him and help him get through the show by distracting him and making it fun. Some years he wears ear plugs and stays in the house, so he is coming along!

After the firework show, it is sparkler time! These sparklers were giant and really gave a good sparkle. Everyone young and old get a sparkler and to wave patriotically.  Wouldn't you know Zany started chasing Archy with her lit sparkler. He was no fool he ran, luckily he is still faster than her.

I said something really funny to crack them up I am sure

Not only did Zany get to see horses up close but she also got to see a frog. I may or may not have screamed when the frog suddenly started jumping at me when I was taking his picture.

My kids wanted to look but not touch. Uncle Scott, quite a frog catcher, scooped up the little guy and offered to have my kids hold it but they all passed. Might have been the info that Uncle Scott passed along that frogs often pee on you when you pick them up. Ashlee didn't hold the frog either.

Soon the frog was back to hoping about until he found a resting spot. My children sat for ten minutes watching him, watching them.

Before we knew it firework and frog watching were over and we headed home. Thanks for the lovely party, Pugmires (we still think we need another one in the fall or spring)!  Good times!
