When I was in high school (nearly twenty years ago), my town got a pool which was really exciting. For fourth of July they had open swim free for all. So Eddy and I took the kids sans Ashlee who was still recovering from her fall and bruised ego. The pool sits up on a hill and so has a lovely view of surrounding mountains. When you are in the water all you can see are the mountains and sky. The kids were excited to use a diving board. The day was really hot and muggy but the water was deliciously cool and refreshing.

This airplane overlooks the town and was also put in when I was in High School my dad could tell you exactly what it is, Declan floating

Dec feet first
After swimming, we lunched and a nap for the little ones. Everyone dorked around until it was time for the parade. This year Duncan had a night parade. Everyone lines the streets waiting for the parade. We usually take water guns in case any of the floats shoot us with water we can fire back with impunity. We weren't sure if anyone would shoot us since it was a night parade but one float did and we blasted them in return. They may have regretted shooting us.
Our party left to right: Coy, Me & Archy, Ashlee, Nona, Pa, Quinton with water gun, Zany & Dec behind

Pa took boys to watch fireworks while Eddy, Zany and I headed home leaving all the boys in Duncan to stay over night. We love the small town celebration of our country's Independence Day!
