2014 First Day of School

Ahh, the first day of school such excitement in the air or is that the toxic gases coming off all the new clothes, backpacks, and shoes. I find the first day of school to be a bit stressful. I have to get everyone ready as well as myself and the little ones (this year just Zany) who are not going to school. Since you see EVERYONE dropping off their kids you have to put some effort in how you look. Plus you have to feed everyone a good breakfast and drive them to school walking them into their classes.  This all has to be done before 7:30 a.m. It is a whirlwind. Quinton and Declan are in Middle School and Elementary (grades 3-6) and their buildings remain locked until the bell rings so we dropped them off curbside with a quick photo.

(I really liked the reflection of them in the window)

I later received a phone call that Quinton forgot his football cleats, chin strap, and water bottle and could I please bring them? Of course what else do I have to do but drive back to the school as often as needed

McCoy and Archer are at the same school (grades 2 to Kindergarten). We walked them into their classes as everyone does at the primary school. Saw a few teary eyed moms on Kindergarten Row but I was not in that group. I guess fourth time sending a kid to kindergarten it gets easier.  Archy was besides himself with excitement he kept bouncing as he couldn't contain it.

Zany had to have a backpack too.

As luck would have it Mrs. Griffin also had Quinton and McCoy as kindergarteners pretty good outcome considering that there are six kindergarten teachers. She is a great teacher and we are really happy she is Archer's teacher.

Zany and I left Archer to go play at the playground until the bell rang. Right after the photo below was taken Zany had a major meltdown when she realized she didn't get to stay with her best buddy Archy and instead had to go home.

Before I knew it they were home from school and everyone had a great first day!
