Coy the Catcher

Baseball season is going strong around here as now all three older boys are playing baseball. McCoy has been playing catcher on his team and really enjoying it. As he was playing catcher, he caught a pop up foul ball and got the batter out. Everyone cheered for him because at this age (7) it's about 25% chance they will actually catch a ball and 75% they will drop it.  At dinner that night,  he would quietly say, "Did you see me catch that ball I did really good didn't I?" He said that about five times slightly varying the wording. Cute guy. Baseball really seems to be about confidence. Since getting that out  his confidence level really went up and his hitting has greatly improved.  He is hitting the ball and getting on base two out of three at bats.

It is really interesting as a mom to see which of your kids play and do stuff together the most. Right now McCoy and Archy are usually doing things together, all the time. From playing baseball to jumping on the tramp to blowing bubbles they are pretty much inseparable right now.  Archy isn't the easiest guy to accommodate but if anyone can do it McCoy can.

 Archy outraged at something.
