McCoy's Bobcat & Stitches

McCoy is a new cub scout and he has earned the first rank in cub scouts.  McCoy received his bobcat at pack meeting.  The tradition is to have the scout pin the little bobcat pin on the mother acknowledging the part the mom plays in the scouts rank advancement.  As McCoy is the third scout to join the corps of scouters in the house I hope I can keep my enthusiasm for him getting through each rank.   Quinton has been very self motivated, Declan has had great leaders so I haven't really done too much.  With the cub scout program changing this summer I need to get McCoy through his wolf before June. Gulp.  I will have lots of time in the summer right?

McCoy is quite a baseball player.   He really enjoys playing and is known as the slugger on his team.  He also loves playing catcher and since his dad is the coach he gets to play it a lot.  There is a risk to playing so much baseball-getting hit by a ball.  McCoy took a ball to to the same eyebrow he previously had split open by Archer and a metal golf club, just a handful of stitches later he was good as new.  This time just the stitches of the baseball imprinted into his forehead.  It showed up much better in real life though you have to look closely to see them in this picture.

Better kind of stitches to sport on your eyebrow

At least it wasn't like poor Archie Bradley from the Arizona Diamondbacks.  He took a 115mph ball off a bat right to his face and two minutes after his face was already the size of a half a grapefruit.  I saw it happen while were watching the game and if I was that Archie's mama I would have been besides myself with worry.
