Girls Trip to Tucson

Having to go to Tucson is never a hardship for Ashlee and I even if it is a two hour drive (two hour and forty-five minute for Ash) each way.  We just love to look, shop, and laugh.  As we reached the outer edge of Tucson we stopped for a bathroom and to get some ice cream for second breakfast (we may be part Hobbit),  Since it was just Ashlee, Zany and I on this trip Zany got to have an ice cream all to herself.

Before we knew it we had arrived at the Tucson Zoo where we have a membership that entitles us to free entry and access to the best french fries anywhere.  Ashlee and I have discussed it at length and the Zoo french fries are the best.  They are thick cut with just a bit of the potato skin still on and some kind of spice blend but they aren't curly fries at all.  Really tasty and as we ate lunch at the cafe we had lots of them.

Zany got to see one of her favorites at the zoo baby elephant, Nandy.

There are so many peacocks at the zoo and they have the run of the place.

Since last we were there two weeks ago this peacock mama had her babies.  There were four of them all tiny and cute looking a bit like baby chicks.

After the zoo, we went to so many stores mainly thrift stores.  We found various treasures.  Then we did Costco, Ashlee dreads Costco.  I like it.  Such large boxes of cereal to feed my ravenous boys.  By this time our car was stuffed to the gills.

Quite a full trunk

Quite a full backseat

Still have to fit in this whole cart full of stuff.

When we opened the trunk and saw how full it already was we both just laughed.   We managed to stuff and shove until we got it all in with a nook and cranny to spare.

Then we were off to our final stop-Joann's the fabric store.  We spent a blissful hour and half here.  Did I mention Ashlee and I are slow shoppers?  We shopped a full twelve; hours non-stop.  But really we are just training the next generation; Zany was a real trooper and before you know it she will be wearing Ashlee out with all day shopping.  (Shh-she's the weaker sister)!  We drove home and got home just after eleven pm.  We are just fiends for it we would go again in a second!
